The Heart

Your heart is a muscle that pumps blood around your body. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to every part of you.

๐Ÿ’ก Fun fact

Your heart beats about 100,000 times every day.

All about The Heart

Your heart is a muscle about the size of your fist. It pumps blood through a network of blood vessels called arteries, veins and capillaries. Each beat pushes blood to your lungs to collect oxygen and then to the rest of your body.

The heart has four chambers, two on the top and two on the bottom. Valves inside keep blood flowing in one direction. Your heart rate goes up when you run and down when you rest or sleep.
