All about The Incas

The Inca Empire was the largest empire in South America before the Spanish arrived. It stretched along the Andes Mountains, from modern-day Ecuador to Chile, and was ruled from Cusco in Peru.

The Incas built a network of roads across mountains, terraced farms on steep slopes and cities such as Machu Picchu. They did not have writing in the usual sense, so they used quipu, knotted strings, to record numbers and information.
