All about The Sun

The Sun is a star at the centre of our Solar System. It is a huge ball of hot, glowing gas, mostly hydrogen and helium, and it contains more than 99% of the Solar System's mass. Its gravity holds all the planets in orbit.

The Sun gives Earth light and heat, which make life possible. It produces energy through nuclear fusion, where hydrogen atoms join together in its core. Never look directly at the Sun, because it can permanently damage your eyes.
