All about The Automobile

Karl Benz built the first practical petrol-powered car in 1885 and received a patent for it in 1886. The car used an internal combustion engine to turn fuel into movement. Early cars were expensive and mostly owned by wealthy people.

Henry Ford introduced the moving assembly line in 1913, which made cars much cheaper to produce. Cars changed how people travel, work and live, and today many countries are shifting towards electric vehicles.
